Washington Passed Insane “Police Reform”; Crime Skyrocketed. So They Changed Their Minds And Are Trying To Take It Back

Image
In 2021, the Washington state legislators passed several police “reform” bills that Governor Jay Inslee signed into law. These new requirements in the state covered everything from police background checks in the hiring process to which circumstances could lead to an officer being decertified. Each of the acts stemmed from activities that started in 2020 after the death of George Floyd. Seattle was one of the cities that saw civil unrest violence and extreme lawlessness. There was even a section of the city that was declared an “autonomous zone”. Police were forced out of their own precinct building and members of the zone’s leadership extorted business owners and residents by offering “protection.” We covered the bills that Inslee signed in May of 2021. It took less than a year for the state to reverse some of those limitations they placed on law enforcement. Even the Democrat lawmakers who sponsored last year’s reform bill said that it went too far and made it harder for the police t...

Bail Fund Blasted for Misrepresentations In Defendant's Death

Image
Lancaster County’s prison board members and the warden ripped into Lancaster Bail Fund’s president, saying she put out inaccurate information about a man who died in a hotel room days after the fund bailed him out earlier this month. Michelle Batt said at Thursday’s prison board meeting — and posted on social media last week — that the man, John Choma, 66, had been jailed because he couldn’t post $5,000 bail on a charge for allegedly stealing $28 worth of items from a Sheetz. “He had been in jail anywhere from 48 to 36 hours and was not getting his medication. This gentleman had a lot of pre-existing conditions and chronic illnesses,” Batt said. She called for an investigation. “Because when you do have bail practices such as we have now and someone's snatched out of their lives entirely, you can't make plans for bringing in your medications …” Batt said. “And so five days later, he was dead.” Lancaster County Coroner Dr. Stephen Diamantoni told LNP | LancasterOnline later on...

Nine Phoenix Police Officers Injured In Shooting Involving Baby

Image
Nine Phoenix, Arizona, police officers were wounded Friday morning – believed to be the highest number of officers shot in one day – while responding to a shooting that led to an hours-long barricade situation, which ended in the deaths of the suspect and a female victim, according to investigators. The incident began around 2:15 a.m. local time, and was resolved at about 7 a.m., police said. Phoenix Police initially responded to a report of a woman shot at a home in the area of 51st Avenue and Elwood Street – and the suspect allegedly invited the officers inside – before he opened fire and struck one of the officers multiple times, police officials said. "The suspect ambushed him with a gun and shot him several times," Sgt. Andy Williams told reporters at the scene.  More officers were then targeted shortly thereafter, when a man who was not the suspect placed an infant in a pink-colored carrier outside the home, police said. Police did not immediately believe the baby was...

Indiana Will Get To The Bottom Of Black Lives Matter: State AG Rokita

Image
The "Ingraham Angle" host Laura Ingraham asked Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita about the government's duty to "find out where that money went and how it was spent" after two states threatened legal action against Black Lives Matter. TODD ROKITA: It's another thing that's falling to the states, and so be it. We're going to, we're going to pick up this matter and we're going to get to the bottom of it. You know, some of me, Laura, says, 'You know what? A lot of this money is from woke corporations. You know, they get what they deserve.' But even those woke corporations have shareholders like me and you and regular people and pension funds, and they've got to be focused on making a return for us, and not this social gobbledygook that leads us nowhere. And then what about the hoosier who sees Black Lives Matter and is like, 'Oh yeah, I want to be supportive of that. I'm for equality,' like we all are, and gives them $...

Black Lives Matter Is Imploding In Scandal

Image
“It appears that the house of cards may be falling,” says Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita of the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation, the legal entity that snarfs up most cash donated to the BLM movement. Indeed, “this happens eventually with nearly every scam, scheme or illegal enterprise.” It’s not just Indiana: The states of Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina and Virginia have all revoked BLMNGF’s charitable registration, while California and Washington are threatening to hold the nonprofit’s officers personally liable for its lack of financial transparency. The outfit has failed to file taxes for 2020, the year it raised tens of millions after George Floyd’s death at police hands and the rioting and protests that followed. It has no official leader overseeing its $60 million war chest after its co-founder resigned in May. And that co-founder, Patrisse Cullors-Khan, is tied to several other fundraising organizations whose finance...

Memphis BLM Founder Pamela Moses Sentenced To 6 Years For Illegally Voting

Image
Photo- Shelby County Sheriff's Office The founder of the Black Lives Matter chapter in Memphis has been sentenced to prison for six years for illegally registering to vote in Tennessee, prosecutors said. Pamela Moses, the 44-year-old activist, was ordered to spend six years and one day behind bars Monday for registering to vote despite felony convictions in 2015 that made her ineligible to do so, Shelby County District Attorney General. Amy Weirich said. In handing down the sentence, Judge Michael Ward accused her of deceiving the probation department to obtain the right to vote, “You tricked the probation department into giving you documents saying you were off probation,” Ward said in court, the Washington Post reported. In 2015, Moses pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence and forgery, both felonies, and to misdemeanor charges of perjury, stalking, theft under $500, and escape. She was placed on probation for seven years and deemed ineligible to vote in Tennessee because of...

Democrats Are Responsible for the War on Cops

Image
A war on cops is brewing across the country, and the Democrat Party is directly responsible for aiding and abetting it. They can deny it all they want, but they have blood on their hands. Following George Floyd’s death in 2020, calls by Democrat politicians to defund or “reimagine” the police, in conjunction with soft-on-crime district attorneys, have led to a massive increase in homicides as well as an all-out assault on police officers. According to the National Fraternal Order of Police, 2021 was one of the deadliest years for police officers. A total of 346 officers were shot last year, resulting in 63 deaths, a 55 percent increase from 2020. The number of officers involved in ambush-style attacks also increased by 115 percent in 2021 compared to 2020. In total, 130 officers were shot in 103 ambush attacks last year. If the first month of 2022 is any indication, these trends show no sign of improving. At least 24 police officers were shot in January. Two NYPD officers, Jason...

Slain NYPD cop Jason Rivera was given a solemn final farewell on Friday as his grieving brother told the thousands of officers gathered for his funeral that the rookie’s “first love was policing.” Rivera, 22, was posthumously promoted to detective first grade during the service at Manhattan’s historic St. Patrick’s Cathedral — one week after he was murdered in the line of duty. “He was obsessed with his career in law enforcement,” his emotional older brother, Jeffrey Rivera, said during his eulogy.
