Report- Retail Theft Often Preplanned By Complex Criminal Networks

Image
Criminal operations which are expanding in complexity often enable retail theft in the United States, according to a report released on Thursday by the National Retail Federation. Organized retail crime, defined by the trade association as theft which occurs through high-level coordination for the goal of reselling stolen items, has increasingly plagued retailers as crime rates increase across the nation. The report asserts that criminal networks are shifting from the resale of goods on third-party online sellers and leaning more upon peer-to-peer platforms. “ORC has a parasitic relationship to the economy and society,” the report said, “and its effects extend beyond direct financial costs to the retail industry and the public sector, as ORC presents potential public health and security risks to consumers and communities.” Rather than seeking to acquire luxury goods, crime networks often coordinate their efforts to steal consumer goods which present ease of theft, monetary value,...

Hawaii- Rally Against Bail Reform Bill Planned For Tuesday

Image
Smash and grab burglaries of businesses, car break-ins, arson, and theft are among the crimes in which suspects would be eligible to get released without having to post bail if Gov. David Ige signs House Bill 1567 into law. State Sen. Kurt Fevella and Honolulu City Councilman Augie Tulba represent Ewa Beach, where a number of smash and grab burglaries have recently happened. They are hosting a rally at the state Capitol on Tuesday from 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., urging the governor to veto the bail reform bill. KITV4 asked Fevella why HB 1567 was passed out of the Legislature. He replied: "Everybody thought this bill was good because they only read the part about not having the jails to be crowded. And I never say their staff or they themselves didn't do research on the bill. I not saying that but I'm saying is that everybody thought it was a good intention to less crowded and I think that's the part of the bill that they agreed on." "But they didn't re...

Florida Senate Bill 1534- Giving the Green Light to Career Criminals and Organized Crime

Image
RINOs and other Democrats tend to think they are helping people when they are actually putting people in harm’s way. Such is the case of Republican State Senator Jim Boyd and FL Senate Bill 1534. The bill makes shoplifting food “for the purpose of consumption” not a crime at all. (Lee Williams at Substack). FL Senate Bill 1534reads in part: A person’s theft of one or more food items with the intent to consume such items for the sustenance of himself or herself or another person under his or her care is not a theft violation for purposes of this paragraph. Wrong message In the real world, some states simply have a threshold between felony and misdemeanor, and the police or courts decide to prosecute based on individual situations. But codifying shoplifting as a sort of “right to steal,” instead of allowing that leeway to determine a prosecution, sends the wrong message to shoplifters. Stealing a sandwich is one thing- but the law states one OR MORE food items. They can do whatever...

Fmr. Tuscon Police Officer Calls out Liberal Officials: "These People are Idiots"

Image
Rising crime has put the nation under siege and former Tuscon, Ariz. police officer Brandon Tatum dished to Fox News Digital how some policies are desperate for reexamining. Following the attack in Waukesha, Wisconsin, where repeat offender Darrell Brooks Jr. plowed into Christmas parade attendees, bail reform has been a front-and-center concern in managing crime. Tatum agreed that bail reform has potential, but only if done right. "I think bail reform, if done with the right mindset or in good faith, could be a good idea because then you can look at it in a more thorough sense," he said. "But the way they're doing it is off of social justice correctness. These people should not be out. You don't rehabilitate a deranged criminal by letting them out." During his appearance at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest, Tatum positioned that criminal rehabilitation should be done in the home at a young age. For violent criminals with a thick record like Brooks Jr., letti...
