Man Tells NYPD He Killed His Dad While Together In Quarantine, Cops Find Mutilated Body Inside Home

Officials arrested a man on Wednesday after he approached police who were inside a bagel shop in Brooklyn and told them he had killed his father.
Khaled Ahmad, 26, had been staying with his father inside their Dyker Heights home during the coronavirus outbreak.
He went to a nearby bagel shop at approximately 4:30 a.m., where he told police he had knifed his father.
“I killed my father,” Ahmad, who was drenched in blood told them, according to an NYPD spokesperson.

Bail Fund Supporters Pull Back Support

The Massachusetts Bail Fund is a charity that pays the bail for prisoners who can’t afford it. The nationwide protest movement spurred by the killing of George Floyd in Minnesota has brought a flood of donations, empowering fund officials to pay much higher bails than they ever could before. But the group is facing backlash from its own supporters after it posted $15,000 bail to release a Level 3 sex offender who then allegedly raped and tried to strangle a Quincy woman within three weeks. Shawn McClinton had two previous convictions and a pending rape charge when the group freed him from the Nashua Street jail in July. On Friday, a student group at Boston University canceled a fund-raising concert for the Bail Fund scheduled for Aug. 7, saying they did not realize that the charity was freeing people accused of serious crimes. “We apologize for our ignorance about the Mass. In the heated national debate over bail reform and cashless bail, one critical perspective is often overlooked: the real families left scrambling when a working parent is arrested for a minor offense.
