UPDATED- Round-Up of States Reporting Budget Shortfalls as a Result of COVID-19



Unlike the federal government, states cannot run operating budget deficits. Every state in the union, with the exception of Vermont, has some type of balanced budget requirement.  Therefore, below is a list of the States that have disclosed budget issues arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.  There are the states that have issued some statement:

  • Nevada forecasts that it will see a $700 to $900 million decrease in projected revenue- CLICK HERE
