The PBT Annual Meeting is quickly approaching. It is October 6-8, 2021 at the Menger Hotel in San Antonio, Texas. Please come and join us. We have so much to talk about regarding this session. The Texas Legislature finally has passed Criminal Justice/Bail Reform. Some of the changes go into effect January 1, 2022 and others go into effect April 1, 2022. Come and learn how SB6 will affect your business as counties put into affect the changes enacted by the Texas Legislature.
Also, come and learn all the things that the PBT legislative committee did to prepare for this session and to fight for our industry.
- Were you aware that the PBT legislative committee started meeting with various stakeholder as much as a year before the session?
- Were you aware that the PBT legislative committee drafted a notebook of all the bail reform issues addressed across the country with supporting doucmentation and provided this as a resource to the legislature and our allies?
- Were you aware that PBT along with the assistance of PBT member Charile Pickens developed a new mass email distribution system that distributed over 30,000 emails during the legislative session on behalf of members? Were you aware that the new system was so effective, we offered it to other groups to use in support of our issues?
- Were you aware that every bail bill filed in this legislative session contained something positve for the bail industry that was from PBT's notebook?
- Were you aware that PBT talking points and whitepapers were used by all bail representatives of the bail industry in the Texas Legislative Session?

- Were you aware that the Constitutional Amendment failed and that was predicted by PBT's Legislative Committee even while everyone else was predicting it would pass?
