Pennsylvania- ACLU Opposes HB 2046 Arguing Bill Redefines Bondsmen to Include Bail Funds

 


HB 2046 would amend current law to redefine "bail bondsman" in a way that would require community bail funds to function as professional bail bonds companies, with all the attendant licensing requirements. Those requirements would almost certainly limit what community bail funds can do and would risk putting some out of business altogether.
